The Journey (2019) Original

I finished this piece 12/19/2023.. it’s was the largest piece I’d done at that time. As I painted this I began to think about all the hope I had as a child in people and in the world. That I wanted to grow up with the kind of optimism and faith I seen in my parents and how blessed and fortunate I was to have them as examples. Then I thought of all the young men who are robbed of that opportunity, to hope. This piece is for them. It’s called “The Journey”. I think as young people that quest to find our own “personal legend” is something we all go through but similar to Paulo Coelho’s book “The Alchemist” what we are looking for is usually within us or right in front of us.”
