73rd & Blackstone is a tribute to the joy, resilience, and timeless imagination found on the South Side of Chicago. Inspired by the block where the my grandmother lived, this piece captures a moment of childhood play, three children spinning in laughter beneath a lone streetlamp, a symbol of guidance, protection, and memory.

Rendered in bold silhouettes with warm, textured tones, the work reflects both the vibrancy of Black family life and the sacred spaces that shaped generations.
This painting invites collectors to consider the neighborhoods that raise us, the elders who anchor us, and the way simple moments of joy become lifelong inheritance. On this corner, Blackstone becomes more than a street, it's a story, a legacy, and a reminder of where light first found us.
